第15回目となる「Game Developers Choice Awards」。Game of the Yearの栄冠には、ネメシスシステムが好評を博した『Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor』が輝きました。また、Ustwo Games開発のモバイル向けの錯視絵的パズルアクション『Monument Valley』が、Innovation部門、Best Visual Art部門、Best Handheld/Mobile Game部門の3部門で受賞しています。

Lifetime Achievement（特別功労賞）部門に『ファイナルファンタジー』シリーズの生みの親で、ミストウォーカー創立者の坂口 博信氏が選ばれた他、The Ambassador部門では、ゲーム業界に30年以上在籍する女性開発者Brenda Romero氏、Pioneer部門に1980年代にオープンワールド3Dスペーストレーディングシム『Elite』を開発したDavid Braben氏が選出されています。
