新作『ロックマン11』も発表となったロックマンシリーズ。美しいアートが話題を呼んだインディーアクション『Owlboy』のアートディレクターSimon Stafsnes Andersen氏は、同シリーズをテーマにした、ゲーム画面風のファンアートなどを公開しています。

公開された内容は、SFC、FC風のメインキャラクターたちや、知る人ぞ知る「日本未発売の、海外産のPC-DOS版『ロックマン』1・3のFC風リメイク」を意識したものなどです。

また、あくまでモックアップとしてながら、実際のゲーム風の動作を見せるgif画像も公開されています。Andersen氏は、これらファンアートについて、「現在は一切の『ロックマン』ゲームを手がけていない」と発言、カプコンより適切なオファーがあった場合のみ『ロックマン』を作るとしました。
今までの『ロックマン』タイトルとも異なる雰囲気を醸し出すこのファンアート群。Andersen氏が『Owlboy』で見せた手腕同様、いずれも高品質にまとまっており、本当にこういった『ロックマン』が世に出る日を期待したくなるファンも居るのかも知れません。
