最初に開催されたのは今から5年前、まだ伝統こそないもののヨーロッパを代表する展示会として急速な発展を遂げ、今年もドイツのライプツィヒで行われるGames Convention 2007。明日の開幕に先立った基調講演も目前に迫り、各社の出展タイトルや会場ブースの様子が伝わってきています。
今回、プラットフォームホルダー3社で唯一プレスカンファレンスを行うソニーは、同時にヨーロッパ版PSNの大きな[url=http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2007/08/20/eu-psn-update-due-on-wednesday-folklore-demo-included/]アップデートを行う[/url]予定で、PS3本体からもたくさんのトレイラーが見られそうです。
他の国内大手は東京ゲームショウに向けて必死なのか、大量の出品タイトルの前にちょっと埋もれてしまってる感じですが、反対に地元ヨーロッパのUbisoftやAtari、EidosやCodemasterの中堅どころ、さらにはParadox Interactiveなど大抵PCを専門に手がけてきたヨーロッパの実力デベロッパー達が、世界に向けて大きなブースを用意しているのは密かに注目。
