Last month the federal government anounced an extention of Raccoon City's lockdown, since the sterilization operation following the viral outbreak in 1998. Although initial plans aimed to start lifting the lockdown in 2026, these were recently overturned.
A government official was quoted as saying that the extension was because “safety still cannot be guaranteed.”Tensions have risen among the survivors and bereaved families as a result of this decision. “It's been 30 years since it happened, but we still don't know anything. Now they say they are extending the lockdown without any explanation,” said one woman who tragically lost her entire family in the tragedy.

Looking Back on the Incident which Killed Tens of Thousands
In 1998, a catastrophic incident shook Raccoon City when a virus, developed by the pharmaceutical giant Umbrella, leaked from a laboratory and spread rapidly throughout the area. Despite the valiant efforts of local police force, they were unable to contain the crisis, and the infection quickly spiraled out of control, plunging the city into chaos and despair.
In a decisive and extreme response, the US federal government launched a sterilization operation involving a missile strike to contain the viral outbreak. This unprecedented measure succesfuly prevented the virus from spreading beyond the city limits and infecting the rest of the world, averting a global catastrophe.

The missile strike that decimated most of the city, killing countless people and displacing many more who lived in the surrounding area.
The missile may have eradicated the biological threat, but the surrouning region has been left for dead with nearby cities falling into poverty and disrepair.

Traces of blood around the mouth indicate hematemesis.
Bleeding from the eyes also visible.
What appears to be black bruising was found in several location on the body.
Most notably on the neck and right wrist along with the right shoulder and left side of torso.
To autopsy confirmed that the bruising was also found on several internal organs.
The severe inflamation in these areas is thought to have been the cause of the hematemisis.
